Third Grade
Extension 116

Carrie Turner was an "Army Brat", so she moved many times as a child. She lived in Huntsville after she was born, then moved to Kansas, Iowa, and Massachusetts. Her family moved back to Huntsville in 1989, so she considers it to be her "home." She attended a Catholic school for kindergarten and first grade, then she attended Holy Spirit School for 5th-8th grades. She went to Grissom High School and in 2001 graduated Summa Cum Laude from Auburn University with a degree in Elementary Education.

She was hired to teach third grade at Holy Spirit when she graduated from Auburn in 2001. She never imagined being a teacher at the school she had attended, but God clearly planned for her to teach in a Catholic School. She applied to many local public school systems and two Catholic schools. After she accepted a job at Holy Spirit, she received only one other call - from the other Catholic School! Now she can't imagine teaching anywhere else! Of course the school is quite different than the school she remembers- it has doubled in size, and there are plenty of new teachers! There's only ONE teacher who was here when she was a student.. Can you guess who?

She married Mr. Turner in 2001, and they now have two beautiful daughters, Madeline and Sydney. She and her husband enjoy watching Auburn football and caring for their yard. She spends a lot of time with her daughters, but she spends her spare time reading, playing board games, visiting with friends and being creative. She loves photography, drawing and painting, and has taken classes in glassblowing and lampworking!
