Judy Hopkins spent her childhood traveling around the world as an " Army Brat. " She continued her travels when she married her husband, an Army Officer. She has five children.

She went back to college when her youngest son was in middle school. She taught at Holy Spirit School her first year of teaching. She taught in the Huntsville City School System, both in the Middle and High School. She came back to Holy Spirit School in 1999.

Her philosophy is " Everyone is important your gifts and your talents are unique. "
