Coach Mumaugh received a B.S. in Physical Education for K-12 from UNA and Athens State. He began teaching at Lee High School, then went to Scottsboro Junior High, Blossomwood Elementary and finally retired from the public school system with 28 years at Chapman Middle School. He has been at Holy Spirit since 2004.

Coach Mumaugh is married and has two sons. As a hobby his whole family participates in Civil War Reenactments where they dress in period clothing and reenact battles.

His philosophy is: You only lose if you fail to try.
