Help Maintain Your School

Volunteers - Parents or Catholic High students for work hour credit are needed to occasionally help on a Saturday morning to spruce up the school or work a project. This occurs three or four times during the school year. The activity would be items such as: R&R fluorescent tubes, paint touch up, vacuum HVAC grills, tidy up the grounds, etc. If a person has a specific trade or talent, that information would be helpful in my planning.

Parent Teachers Organization (PTO)

Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

The purpose of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is:
  1. To help school parents, faculty, and students acquire a profound appreciation of the ideals of Catholic education.
  2. To exist as a forum to address issues and concerns facing our school parents, faculty, and students.
  3. To encourage and to promote a sense of community.
  4. To communicate information from organizations within the school to the parents and faculty of the school.
  5. To assist in enhancing the quality of education.
  6. To assist in keeping the cost of tuition affordable.
  7. To assist in supporting the Holy Spirit Regional Catholic School Foundation.
All parents of Holy Spirit Regional Catholic School students are urged to show support for the school by becoming a member of the PTO. Parents should make an effort to attend the meetings and support the organization and its efforts. A minimum of four general membership meetings are held each year.
The standing PTO committees include Room Parent, Facilities/Grounds, Recycling, On-going projects, Carnival, and the B.A.S.H. The B.A.S.H., which stands for Building an Academic and Spiritual Heritage, is the PTO’s single fundraiser. The BASH, a gala event, is traditionally held in conjunction with Catholic Schools Week and consists of silent and live auction and $10,000 raffle. The many volunteers of our PTO are contributing factors in making our school and school community great!

School Board
The purpose of the HSRS Board is to act in an advisory capacity to the Pastors in formulating and evaluating parochial school policy for Holy Spirit and Good Shepherd Parishes. Some of the Board's duties include, but are not limited to the study, review and recommendations concerning:
  • The annual school budget
  • Ways and means of improving operations of the school
  • Better understanding and wider support of the Catholic education within the Parishes and the local community
  • All other matters pertaining to the regional school which the Pastors submit to the Board
The Board meets monthly with alterations due to holy days, holidays, and scheduling conflicts.

Board meetings are open to parents and parish members. The Board welcomes discussion of any issue that relates to the Board’s duties as outlined above.

If there is an issue that you wish to raise before the Board, please submit it at least two weeks prior to the next board meeting by placing it in the School Board President’s box in the hall beside the school office.

The Executive committee will evaluate the issue and, if appropriate, place it on the agenda and notify you of the planned presentation time. Please plan on limiting your presentation of the issue to a single speaker and 5 to 10 minutes.

If the issue raised falls outside the Board’s responsibilities, the executive committee will try to direct the submitter to the appropriate organization (i.e., Principal, PTO, Pastor, Parish Council, etc.).
